I'm not exactly sure where but she gets them for a hairdressers warehouse, you can also buy them off ebay cheap, you just need to know the right colour (ebay prices £30-£80 im guessing) which is still cheap. You've got to also buy a glue gun and glue sticks and little pads which you use to rub the glue in your hair so it doesn't burn you. You can't really do them yourself because you need them nearly put in the partings.

I will warn you, buy a good glue gun, one that hairdresses use, my mum bought a craft gun off ebay, and it's a load of crap, she's burnt her hands so many times as the glue is very hot.
(I think the glue has to be keratin glue)
